Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM The Association of Educators in Radiological Sciences (AERS) is honored to be holding a workshop on Sunday, August 7 as part of the AHRA Annual Meeting. AERS is committed to delivering quality educational activities to the entire profession and this workshop is appropriate for anyone who works with accrediting agencies. Specifically this workshop will look at assisting radiologic education programs to prepare and submit a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) interim report. There is an additional fee for meeting attendees wishing to participate in this workshop. 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM This session is designed to assist programs that have an 8-year accreditation award with preparation and submission of the required interim report. Special attention will be paid to the assessment plan and related data. Information on mission and goals, required criteria, measures and benchmarks, data, documenting ties to programmatic improvement, budget, and assessing assessment will be discussed. Radiation safety policies, supervision, and dosimetry reports will also be reviewed. You will learn to:
10:00 AM – 10:15 AM 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM
This session will focus on developing an outcome assessment for a JRCERT interim report. Speakers will take a step-by-step approach demonstrating the linkage between intuitional, program, and course goals and objectives. Writing objectives in measurable terns will be stressed. This will be followed by specific qualitative and quantitative measures. The entire process will be presented using a case study example. You will learn to:
12:15 PM – 1:15 PM 1:15 PM – 2:45 PM Programs in the radiologic sciences that have received an 8-year accreditation award most likely have program officials that understand the focus of the JRCERT Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiologic Sciences. This includes establishing an assessment plan with benchmarks and then evaluating the outcomes and setting priorities for improvement. Once the 8-year accreditation award has been received some program officials may think the main work is done and the processes established to evaluate the program are fine as they are. However, these programs must complete an interim report at the midpoint of the 8-year accreditation. These interim reports are, in reality, a mini self-study report, and program officials must show that they have continued to utilize the assessment cycle as established by the program and have made changes as appropriate to improve the quality of the program. This presentation will contain information about, and examples of, the components of an interim report. Additionally, documentation that can successfully demonstrate a program’s continuous improvement and compliance with the JRCERT standards will be discussed and demonstrated. You will learn to:
2:45 PM – 3:00 PM 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM Preparation of the JRCERT interim report is a multifaceted process that requires careful preparation and assessment. Participants will be asked to analyze their current assessment systems and data collection techniques in an effort to identify methods to improve their current processes. This session will present information on the components of an interim report and the necessary steps involved in the preparation of a report. Examples will be presented from a university program that has successfully completed this process. A discussion of data collection and maintenance in relation to a program’s assessment plan will be another component of this presentation. You will learn to:
